Abstract type

Lightning Talks

In 2020, lightning talks replace the traditional poster presentations. Presenters will have 10 minutes in a dedicated lightning talk session and can accompany their presentation with up to 3 PowerPoint slides. Abstracts for lightning talks must present:

  1.  Original research that has, or has the potential to have, significant impact on autism practice OR
  2. Examples of innovative programs for autistic people that have an evidence base.

The Conference committee is particularly keen to hear about research and programs that incorporate elements of co-production/involvement of autistic people. Submissions should be no longer than 300 words (excluding title and other contact details).


10 minutes for each presentation

You do not need to nominate a chair. A chair will be appointed by the Program Committee.

Session format

Every lightning talk presentation can have up to 3 slides each. These presentations will be grouped by key interest area into sessions.

A session will include three (3) to four (4) presentations:

  • Presentation #1 (10 min)
  • Presentation #2 (10 min)
  • Presentation #3 (10 min)
  • Presentation #4 (10 min)
